My older boy is confirmed an “aspie”. The psychologist just confirmed it today, at our 3rd session after long play-interviews with my 6yo during the first 2 sessions. Life won’t be very much different, but we’ll probably be more aware of how to help my son along and to make home life a bit easier to deal with, which I’ll also share here as I learn.
This blog is about life at home (and school) with an older boy with Asperger’s syndrome, a younger spunky nearly- 3 yo guy, setting up a new gift hamper business, and life in general.
Those who are interested to find out more about asperger’s syndrome can do so at http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/
yup.. now you know what you’re dealing with. Trust in God to bring the right support network into your life!
Hi there
Ezymum directed me to your blog after reading mine. My 6 year-old is currently undergoing assessment, not exactly diagnoised. but looking at it, I’m already mentally prepared.
One thing I learned is to refrain from smacking and definitely no cane. I’ve come to realise corporal methods just don’t work, not even instil fear in my kid. I’ve just read on some alternative methods that are worth a try.
Let’s encourage each other on our parenting journey!

Okie, now we have a name for his condition… let’s move on from there to deal with it, everything with His strength.
